Il Borro (https://www.ilborro.it/en/) – owned and built by Ferruccio Ferragamo – just 50 yards from the Ferragamo Palacio and flagship store in the centre of the town on the riverside.  A modern, beautifully designed Tuscan bistro, great service, interesting, modern twists on traditional dishes and terrific wines from their own superb Il Borro vineyard.

And a well-kept secret.  Our favourite fish restaurant in Florence – Osteria La Pescatoria (https://www.lapescatoria.it/), just eight minutes walk from the Piazza di Republica.  Small, no frills, just great fish – only four/five choices.  I had anchovies, then octopus, Trudy had Amberjack.  Family run, laid-back Vagabond luxury.
