Last week I was in the beautiful city of Chester, working with CEO Richard Lloyd and his top team at Encirc Beverages – a top UK bottler of wines and spirits.

I stayed at The Grosvenor – an old school, traditional hotel in the Centre – which offers the classic English Christmas – pretty much in the same elegant style it’s had since its launch in 1865!!

Chester is a beautiful city, no matter what time of year, but it really comes alive at Christmas time.  The city was just named the prettiest town to go Christmas shopping in by the UK’s equally venerable Times newspaper, and I couldn’t agree more.

From independent boutiques, to High Street favourites, the unique Chester ‘Rows’ have buildings dating back to the 13^th century, while others are fine examples of the Victorian age.  The Christmas markets are full on between November 17^th and 21^st December and are the best in the UK.  There’s the annual Christmas tree festival at the Cathedral and the Lantern & Light installation at the nationally acclaimed Chester Zoo where you can meet orangutans, lions, dolphins and woolly mammoths (!) along the trail.
