I love working with Family companies.  From Piana and Ferragamo in Italy, to the Guedes Sogrape family in Portugal.  I love the Caring/Demanding nature of successful family-owned companies.  I love their beliefs, their commitment to connecting past, present and future and their focus on combining legacy and progress.  There’s no doubt in my mind that the best companies feel like a Family and play like a Team.

I was drinking a chilled can of Summerfest lager yesterday, lake-side at Mark and Vanessa’s magical Green Pond, New Jersey lake-house – which is like living in a Norman Rockwell painting, when I saw this on the top of the can:  “Family owned, operated and argued over”.

Long may it continue to be so.
